Taranaki Community Rescue Helicopter
Taranaki Civil Construction is sponsoring the region’s rescue helicopter Alpine Team for the next three years.
Taranaki’s rescue chopper has a new sponsor on board to fund its specialist mountaineering team.
Associate sponsor Taranaki Civil Construction has pledged its support, which includes naming rights, to the Alpine Rescue Team for the next three years replacing Fulton Hogan.
Director Simon Mulligan said the helicopter, which has completed more than 260 missions in 2020, was a vital service for the region and aligned well with the company’s community based values.
“This partnership increases our level of support for the whole Taranaki community and directly supports the volunteer Alpine Rescue Team in our unique Taranaki landscape as well as ensuring the ongoing servicing and maintenance of the helicopter,” Mulligan said.

Trust chairman Evan Cottam said the organisation was grateful for Taranaki Civil’s commitment and support since 2019.
“This generous sponsorship provides some certainty to our Alpine Rescue Team over the next three years, ensuring our crew of volunteers have all the necessary equipment and training to undertake life-saving rescue missions on our mountain,” Cottam said.
The sponsorship would be acknowledged with branding on the chopper and the official naming of the “Taranaki Civil Alpine Rescue Team”.
