A New Plymouth hair dressing salon has taken out two national titles after a hard year – especially for the owner.

Just Cuts New Plymouth came out on top of the 28 other franchises around the country winning the Just Cuts Franchisee of the Year Award and Best Practice Award.

Laurie Broomhall, the owner of the Centre City-based salon, said the win was bittersweet for her after a hard year navigating a business through Covid-19 lockdown and losing her husband, Paul, to cancer.

“While Paul died in April this year during the covid lockdown, I know he would’ve been proud of our win,” Broomhall said.

“This award belongs to my team. All my stylists are fully qualified, highly experienced hairdressers who’ve worked so hard during a year like no other.”
