One was in Tūrangi, another on the outskirts of Hamilton, and a third in the South Waikato.
One of three overnight suspicious car fires in the Waikato was in a spot with a recent spate of arsons.
Fire crews were called to car fires in Tūrangi, the outskirts of Hamilton, and the South Waikato between midnight Friday and 5am Saturday.
The latest of the fires was in Tapapa, South Waikato, around 4.20am.
The car was in flames by the time firefighters arrived at Whites Road, Fire and Emergency NZ northern communications shift manager Daniel Nicholson said.
A fire investigator was requested “due to a spate of arsons in the area”, he said.
Another burning car was found on fire on the side of the road in Temple View, on the edge of Hamilton, around 3.30am.
Police also attended the fire, near Collins Road.
And the first suspicious Waikato car fire for the evening was in Tūrangi, just before 1am.
The vehicle was on Waiotaka Road, on the western side of the river, Nicholson said.
Firefighters left the scene around 2.10am.
